Getting your photos taken can be intimidating. And it can also be a big financial investment that either isn’t possible right now or it feels like too much of a commitment.

I do understand that! So to allow you to get some photos with only a little time investment and on a budget, I’m running Mini Sessions again.

What are Mini Portrait Sessions and why do you need them?

Mini Portrait Sessions are perfect to try out how working with a photographer like me would be like. In order for me to offer them so they stay affordable for you, those sessions happen back to back on a single location for a number of people.
Everyone who books will have the same amount of time with me, based on a timeslot they chose beforehand.

So how does this work then?
Let me walk you through everything you need to know before booking your session…

Where are they happening

This year’s Mini Sessions are happening at Salt Water Studios in Worthing.

Salt Water Studios is a beautiful, daylight-filled yoga studio right next to Worthing Museum. With its central location, they’re easy enough to get to. There’s also free parking for a couple of hours just outside the studio.

When are the sessions happening?

Based on the feedback I received, I booked the studio for an hour on Tuesday, November 22 and Wednesday, November 23.

Salt Water Studios only had very limited availability during daylight hours which in turn give you the opportunity to choose between 2 days to book your session.

What does a Mini Portrait Session involve?

Each session is 15 minutes long. Since we only have one single (but beautifully versatile) room to work with, this gives us plenty of time to create a variety of photos for you.

During these 15 minutes, I guide you through poses or let you do your own thing if you have specific images in mind that you need.

About a week after your session, you will receive a link to your personal online photo gallery where you can see at least 14 beautiful portraits of yourself. You will be able to download 2 high-resolution res files from this gallery – those 2 images are included in your session price of £75.

If you’d like to use more of your photos, you have the opportunity to buy them individually for £25/each or get the whole gallery for £250.

Who are these mini sessions perfect for?

Mini sessions are perfect for you if you either just need a handful of new portraits or want some photos of yourself that don’t look like a business headshot. Or if you can’t or don’t want to invest in a full Portrait or Personal Branding session right now.

The idea is to give you the opportunity to work with me while investing little time and money so you can quickly and easily get a few new portraits for your website, social profiles or even as a present for your mum.

What do I wear?

Since this is a very short session, there’s no chance for you to change your outfits so I’d advise you to wear something that feels and looks like you and is comfortable.

Wear clothes that are not too tight or too loose, colours that complement you and you feel good in. You can bring a couple of accessories like a scarf, hair band, cardigan ect to mix things up.

Think about what these images are for and dress accordingly. If you’d like new headshots for your LinkedIn profile where business contacts will connect with you, dress accordingly.

If you are a yoga teacher and you want to use these photos on your social channels and website to share who you are, dress accordingly.

If these photos are just for you or to show the person “behind your profession”, wear what you would wear on any given day that you don’t have to wear your “work uniform”.

Can I bring my friend/partner/kids/dogs along for some photos?

These mini sessions are meant for small business owners, professionals and individuals to update their headshots and profile images. I’d encourage you to leave your family at home and focus on yourself for this session. Anybody you bring along might be a distraction for you. Please be aware that there’s no assistant or babysitter around to look after your children.

Do I need this?

Well, only you can really answer this question 🙂

How long has it been since you had your photo taken? Have you changed a lot since then? New haircut, new hair colour? New clothing style?

There are lots of reasons why you COULD have your photo taken. But most importantly, this is an investment in yourself or your business so if you’d like to show up as who you are in whatever these photos need to do for you, it might be time to get your photo taken again!
