Do you live in a small(ish) home? Here’s how to enjoy your family photos without tonnes of wall space
Not everyone has the wall space – or the desire – to hang big framed prints. Maybe your home has an open-plan layout, a gallery wall is just not your thing, or you’re renting and want to keep things simple.
But that doesn’t mean your family photos have to live a hidden life on a hard drive. There are so many beautiful, low-key ways to enjoy your images every day – without needing a blank wall.
1. Little Frames, Big Joy – display your family memories around the hosue
Smaller prints in simple frames can be dotted around your home – on bookshelves, bedside tables, desks, window ledges, or even in the kitchen. They don’t shout for attention, but they catch your eye in just the right way throughout your day.
Mix and match frame styles or keep it minimal for a clean, cohesive look. Swap out prints over time to keep things feeling fresh and seasonal.

2. Photo books and family albums you’ll actually flip through
Photo books are like personal storybooks for your family – and they’re so much more enjoyable than scrolling through a phone. Keep one on your coffee table, or build up a collection year by year.
Albums also make brilliant gifts for grandparents or a way to preserve a specific season of family life (a new baby, a first year at school, a weekend away).
The tactile experience of flipping through a book of printed memories is something screens just can’t compete with.

The Main Thing? Make Them Visible.
However you choose to enjoy your photos, the goal is to see them. Let them live where you live — not just inside a folder called “Photoshoot” that you forget to open.
And if you’re ever stuck for ideas, I’m always happy to help plan how your photos can be printed and displayed in a way that suits your home and lifestyle. But if you scroll down the page, there’s a free pdf waiting for you with creative ideas how to get your photos off your phones (or computer) and into your home….
