“I just need one photo.”...I hear it all the time.

It sounds simple enough, right? But here’s the thing – capturing a photo that actually feels like you, one that you’re proud to use and excited to share, doesn’t happen in a single click 🚫

1️⃣ Great photos take time (and trust)
The shortest personal branding session I offer is 15 minutes. For most, it takes a little time to warm up, especially if you don’t love having your photo taken. Trying to get a great image in under a minute is a recipe for stiff smiles and awkward energy. You deserve better than that ⏰

2️⃣ You probably don’t want “just one” after all
When clients tell me they “only need one or two good ones,”. But when they see the final gallery, they get it 🙏Because the photo they end up loving the most? It’s almost never the first one we take.

The image that truly feels like them – the one that captures their confidence, ease, and personality – usually comes much later. After the nerves have settled. After a few laughs. After they’ve forgotten that I’m even pointing a lens at them. 😍

I’m a photographer, not a magician 🪄

But with a bit of trust and enough time, I can absolutely make a little magic happen.

Matching your family photos to your home… Yes or no?

I’m big on printing family photos and displaying them around the house 🏡 And I totally understand that some people have a strong vision for how they want their home to look – calm colours, perfectly curated shelves, coordinated prints in matching frames. 🖼And in that case, it makes sense to want photos that match that aesthetic too.

But my clients? They tend to appreciate a bit of beautiful chaos. 🤣

In my own home, you won’t find a big, perfectly styled wall gallery. The photos on my walls live in mismatched frames of all sizes alongside phone snapshots, and artwork picked up on a whim. 💪Nothing is cohesive – and I love that. It tells our story honestly. 💜

If your style is more neutral-toned minimalism, I might not be the photographer for you – and that’s okay. 😊But if you want your chaos documented truthfully, beautifully, and joyfully – superhero onesies, neon-coloured toys, and all – I’m here for it.

You don’t have to get out the matching outfits… Prepare for your family photo session the fun way ⬇️

Here are some gentle tips:

1️⃣ Choose clothes that feel comfortable and like you – clothes you’d normally wear.
2️⃣ Don’t worry about everyone matching; think instead about colours or textures that complement each other if you really want to take the lead on the optics. Alternatively, skip this: be “brave” and let everyone choose what they want to wear.
3️⃣ Feel free to wear patterns, textures, and styles that show off your personality.
4️⃣ Most importantly, be ready to enjoy the moment.

When families dress authentically, it shows. Those photos capture a genuine story that will warm your heart for years to come. 📸
