In July I went to photograph a wedding in Surrey. Well, I was on my way… I hired a car to get to the groom, then to the church and the reception venue. That was the plan. But before I even left Brighton, I was suddenly held back – by a flat tire. Less than 10 minutes after picking up the hired car. Not a good start! After running an 1,5hours late I luckily still made it to part of the groom prep. The groom as well as the main photographer, Simon Biffen, who had me along for the day to second shoot for him, as well as everybody else who heard of my terrible start to the day, were very understanding and sympathetic. Still, I could have wished for a better beginning to witness this wedding.
Anyway, the lovely couple was Rob and Nat and they got married in St. Joseph’s Church in Epsom, Surrey. After the wedding the guests were picked up by two London double-decker busses and brought to the most beautiful venue “Polesden Lacey” in Surrey. At the sunny afternoon reception everybody was invited enjoy Pimm’s and Ice Cream before heading to the marquee to have a delicious meal and party until the dark.
